You've all been so supportive and welcoming in my moving experience, and I couldn't thank you enough. Even if I knew how. But now I have a few questions

Hi Stern! This Molly's friend, Amber. I don't live in Oregon, but if you're starting your garden, would you like some seeds? I got some short season melons this year (I'm NorCal, below you, but in still the short season and fog land). I'm curious what can grow around this region. I don't know if they'll ripen for me or anyone else but I'm curious. I've been seedswapping IRL and trying to encourage this over the internets too, so, if you don't have all your seeds yet or had something you wanted but didn't need ask me! I've got lots and since we're having such a late funky season I may do one more swap with another lady who has TONS. I have a mix of heirlooms as well as hybrids if you're particular. This mostly all vegetables and herbs, but I have a few sweet peas, a couple heirloom mixes and a pink variety I've been seed saving for a few years.
Actually, I think I may have more seeds than I'll be able to use this year, what with starting my garden late and all. Next year I plan to grow a lot of heirloom vegetables, so if you've got some I will definitely take an interest. Herbs too. Especially oregano and basil.
Hmm, I can't remember if I have oregano, for basil I just have the regular sweet genovese and a cinnamon. I've found that for me, sadly, we don't get hot enough for good basil without a greenhouse. It...doesn't get very leafy, and it bolts quickly. The only good side to this, is that you can pinch off the flowering parts as they form and infuse them in some olive oil and make TASTY basil flower flavored olive oil. Not quite the same flavor as the leaves impart, kind of spicier, and it's good for dipping bread in. So you're welcome to some, with that caveat. If I try basil next year, I may go the opposite of heirloom with 'Summerlong' from Burpee.
I love the picture of the max it looks all sci fi like that *squee*. I should really do that whole driving test thing myself also. Best of luck with your test when you find the right car.
