  1. Months after changing from Pampers to Huggies, I have belatedly realized that every one of my daughter's diapers is covered with Pooh.
  2. I've reached the conclusion that "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" is an innovative science fiction story about the social and economic impacts on modern human culture of the unexpected opening of some sort ( Read more... )

My favorite diapers by far were the Costco ones. Surprisingly I liked how they functioned better than the name brands, and as the kids got older and larger, I was less likely to tear the tabs off by accident.

Within the same size, each diaper looks identical to an adult, but unfortunately, to an 18 month old there's an extreme difference between "the one with the birdie" and the one without. Around the age of two, I was close to posting a "Want to Trade" ad on Craigslist, but we decided to just use up all the birdie diapers in the package first.

I hate that problem! J had some very decided opinions on what was supposed to be on his diapers -- I no longer remember what the "right" picture was, but it was very important to him. Thankfully, at the time, he and R were in the same size diaper (size 3 seems to cover a wide range in our house), and she was too young to care, so the easy solution was to put the despised diapers on her.

Now, we have switched back to cloth diapers, with the help of a bunch of diaper covers we got used from Chris's cousin. Her taste runs extensively to covers with pictures on them, and we got quite a variety. R is particularly fond of "heavies" (by which she means "elephants"), and we've had to make up imaginary "heavies" on some of the covers to get her to accept the full range of what's available.
