Sometimes lj, seems like a good idea, and other times it seems like a waste of time. I guess you can see that most of the time I feel the later. I'm one of those weirdos that prefers a human voice. Even An IM doesn't interest me most of the time ( Read more... )

I'm sorry, but that's just bullshit. If you look at underdogs in history, particularly athletes, many of them extend a special thanks to their detractors. Michael Jordan is a perfect example. He didn't make his high school team at first and he just kept trying. Today, he thanks the people who told him he'd never be a good player because they gave him the drive to try that much harder.

Regardless, you have no one to blame but yourself when a lack of ambition is the only thing impeding your success. It simply doesn't matter what other people say. I engage in a host of activities not because of what people say about me, but because I just don't know what else to do and I would consider it a damn shame if I didn't take advantage of my privileges and blessings.

In that spirit, "no your not."

I'm not micheal jorden, and I'm not you.

That's beside the point. You're allowing yourself to be weak. Why don't detractors inspire you to work harder? You're just giving excuses for being lazy when you clearly have the ability to excel. There are lots of intelligent inner city kids that wish they had the privileges and opportunities that you do, and you're squandering them by not taking advantage ( ... )

Great. Yeah, I totally empathize with the well fuck effect. And the doubtedness too as of late. I recently decided that I'm probably going to be joining the army, and I've gotten alot of "hypocrite" and "traitor". People have big mouths. don't let it get to you. Chances are no one will ever completely understand what makes you do what you do, or why, and no matter what you do there will always be people who aren't supportive. You just have to look past it all and keep in mind why your doing it. For yourself. Which completely outweighs anything they might have to say.
