I Hate To Say It

So I've been thinking about the idea of hatred, and it seems like a surprisingly elusive concept. Clearly, some of my understanding stems from the Judeo-Christian tradition (Rule #2: Love your neighbor as yourself) then tempered much more by liberal tolerance than by high-religious righteousness. Sounds like you've been reading up on the new debate topic, almost. I just spent four weeks trying to figure out the hate. I cut an aff on racial profiling and subsequently spent a lot of my time reading about the atrocities our government commits in the name of public safety. Or in the name of the War on Drugs. Really, it's all relative.

My friends and I went to see Crash the other night. Three of us cried during and after the movie. I got slightly hysterical at the end when I realized that there's no alternative. Just a never ending cycle. Then we went to Kafein to have shakes and try to forget about it.
