Lastnight, I played cards at a Firehouse with five other people. I havent played poker/black jack in like ten years. Luckily for me we weren't playing that game, It was going to be Texas Hold'em. A game I never played. YAY

You were snookered. The rank of suits has no relevance in Texas Hold'em. If they tried to claim it was a house rule, they were full of shit. You can certainly play a variant of Hold'em in which suits have a rank order, but then it is NOT Texas Hold'em and mustn't be called such.

Of course, in a friendly game, the goal should be to have fun, so if you had fun, you won.

Yeah, we all knew each other, so it's not like I was worried anybody was trying to cheat me. Also, I wasnt playing with my money, (I wasn't told till I arrived) so someone else had already paid for my chips.
