I must admit, I only just Stumbled across this article in Jeff Harrell's blog, but I feel that the points it raises are quite valuable. Especially:

One of the things I like about your journal is that you can import a large array of words, tools for the trade of writing and put your message across well. Content aside it's good to see the language not confined. The shape of internet dialogue is vast if you include smilies and abbreviations. Sometimes it is nice to actually read English the way it is meant to be.
Good luck on that list of books!
