how much are you looking to make?
what kind of job are you willing to take?
that was not intended to rhyme.

I will keep a look out for you!
There is a temp agency next door to me (Career Staff). I will ask if they know of anything.
Most of what I hear about is much less than $16/hr but I will forward any info I can!
Hang in there! Things tend to happen for a reason. ;)

Argh! Sorry about the job situation. Not working sucks, and not doing what you want sucks. I must know about 100 people who went to school for "art" related careers and can't find anything right now. It's all about right place/right time I guess.

If I may suggest, hit the temp agencies. Keep in touch with them. If a job you're at even remotely sucks, let your agency know. You'll be fresh in their heads for when a better job pops up. Eventually you'll find yourself in a job you can be proud of. Jobs are out there, they're just really fucking hard to find now.

Keep yo' head up

i think the company my mom works for is hiring. it's called "sign on the x". look them up? they are notaries, i think? but then again, they might be notaries for mortgage companies, which would put you back where you started.
anyways, good luck josh.

ideas:
go to yp.yahoo.com, look up ad agencies, graphic design houses + magazines, get the names... google them. combine a list of contacts, their emails and whatnot, then tailor letters to diff industries and email out your resume. ask for an entry level design position and make a kick ass letter and include a link to your book/folio...
ive seriously gotten interviews through this "method" of cold-emailing, shitty as it is.
also, go to the how design conference. it costs a lot but you know, it may be a fantastic investment. can you fake being a student still, like use your old id ? you can get in for half. maybe sign up for a class for the summer and then drop it, get a student id and pay half...
anyway i will look for jobs on the bulletin board at school and i will email you stuff. can you email me your resume or folio or something? treefingers at sbc global dot net.

hope that helps :)
