Thanks for sharing! I was surprised by the announcement. I’ve only seen Lenkov on DVD extras, where he seemed like a reasonable guy trying to put on a good show. It’s interesting to have more backstory on what happened.
As someone who followed him on social media and got to see him in person at PaleyFest in Hollywood last year...there's something about him that I'm now seeing it for what it is rather than bitterness over certain things that fell flat in his shows.
Looking at everything that's gone on in the past with the knowledge from the Vanity Fair article so much more make sense but they're still a lot more questions
If only this had happened, say, 8 years ago instead...
Seriously, though, I am a proponent of the good old days when the folks behind the cameras and on the screens had limited interactions with fans. From what blurbs I ever caught from this guy, my overwhelming takeaway was that he was an asshole at the kindest. Including the bullshit he spouted after Five-0 wrapped up. And if that's how he was on a platform that acted at least somewhat as a filter - imagine him in real time.
But he was oh so nice to a lot of the white men (including the ones mentioned in the article, at least 2 or 3 others have shown their true colors on social media).
Well, he must have been very nice to Lucas Till, considering Lucas was suicidal working with him. Probably just a coincidence that George Eads left without a real reason from one day to the other. I'm sure he's a very nice guy *rolleyes*
It makes me a little queasy to think of who might just be in that category...especially the (what I remember to be) resounding silence after Grace and Daniel opted out.
In reading some comments about Lucas Till from some calling him such wonderful things as "pansy" and "snowflake" and "beta" for, y'know, daring to be emotionally impacted by what seems to have been emotional and verbal torture reminds me how far humanity has to go to not be the worst species on the planet.
