Booooooooooooo if he's a minor leaguer we'll never see him, though! He deserves better :( But yeah, okay, at least he's not retiring. Let's cling to the positive.
He has been invited to spring training as a non-roster invitee. But I was talking to my friend bullpenbrat22 He has a good chance of making the opening day roster. They are in desperate need of a CF. But I agree, he does deserve better. Way too many teams are looking at his age.
I thought Taveras was already the center fielder. I do agree he deserves better than he got. I just hope he can comeback. I think he can be the backup at least. The other outfielders still have minor league options left. I read that somewhere today.
No, Willy is not exactly the Rockies' center fielder just yet. He was ACQUIRED in the Jason jennings trade during the offseason. The Rockies have not really seen Willy play for them yet.
I think that Steve Finley has the best chance of anyone competing for the CF job because first of all he has veteran leadership experience both off and on the field, plus he's got a very good BA at Coors (.314), and plus, despite turning 42 next month, he's still in pretty good shape and can still cover the centerfield position pretty well. Last year was an off-year for him. He did well for the Dodgers the previous year. I think he can kick butt and take names!
