What blog would be complete without the occasional foray into free-speech issues?  Recently, redneck radio shock-jock Don Imus was reprimanded, suspended, condemed, and eventually fired from his CBS Radio gig for referring to members of the Rutgers University Women's Basketball Team as "nappy-headed hoes".  Deplorable speech, to be sure.  They were

In a country which wears its christianity on its sleeve so blatantly as the United States, I would think there would be a little stonger sense of forgivness when Imus apologized to Sharpton directly, and even met with the women's team at Rutger's University. If the women's team can forgive Imus, then that's where it ends. They are comments that ultimatley affect no one but Imus, and the Team. If the team called for Imus' head, then fine. But that's not the case
