I write this every year, it’s a kind of self-indulgence I allow myself every march: St. Patrick’s Day is the most racist day of the year.

Every year we “celebrate” St. Patrick’s Day by drinking ourselves stupid, beginning in the middle of the afternoon, then maybe getting into a few fights.  This is acceptable behavior because, we’re told, this is

I don't know what else can be said, you nailed it. Living near Boston, sometimes all the Irish pride starts to piss me off, so I take part in St. Patricks day festivities just to be rude to them,(even if they don't see it that way) Besides, as a student of theology I can say, St. Patrick almost never drank, and was british!
