Great story and pictures. The Kemuu Toyota truck is pretty darn tough to pull you through the African heat. The key to Africa is water. Always have several gallons of water on hand because of very few decent wells. I learned this from the discovery channels Expedition Africa. You are done in Africa? At least you can get rehydrated in England. Thanks for the tour.

Oh, I'm totally Fremen about water. Never reached the 'urine drinking' stage cuz I'm vigilant - hell, I'm just starting to relax on this now. Or at least I've stopped stockpiling it.
Done in africa for the moment but I doubt I'll ever stop going. Pretty sure my (future - don't get excited, mom) kids will grow up thinking about where the predators could be hiding, at least until they out-grow the preferred prey-range for big cats. Once they're larger than 65 pounds or so, should be no problem.
Truth be told, everyone seems to more excited to see Tess but I'll let that slide since I owe you for half my genome. Oh and thanks again for that - still seem immune to infection so that's working out. Also common sense but I'm guessing that's a Josephson trait.
Looks like we'll be house hunting in Virginia for the first two weeks of July - you guys wanna come adjudicate differences of opinion? Tess is pushing for 'sensible place with a good commute' while I'm leaning toward 'isolated cabin with a good line of fire on Revenuers'. We agree on 'must have broadband' so that's a start.
We get back to the sunny south on July 9th and take the kids on a camping vacation while you guys play in Vegas. May very well visit in VA if we can coordinate dates. We miss you both! My bet on a house is with Tessa. As far as the "future grandchildren" are concerned, seeing is believing, but must admit to just a small shiver of excitement at the mention of the word.
Two words actually but I get your point. Patience my pet, and I need not warn you that any progeny of mine will be hell-spawn. You thought I was bad - they'll be smarter than me and fair of face, spare a moment of pity for what I'm facing.
The snow turned out to be wishful thinking, as were the flood warnings. Still, nice to be home with my loved ones. Oh espresso machine, how I've missed ... I mean wife. Wife. I missed my wife.
And yes, I'm afraid it's time for a change. I'll miss England and all but this is about as long as I've stashed my stuff in one place. I'm also giddy about seeing fireflies again, and the night music of cicadas and spring frogs.
I fear they are really looking forward to seeing Aunt Tess. I know for a fact that Eric threatens his kids with a visit from me to keep his kids in line.

We're currently working our way to the cusp of winter here, and it's looking to be the warmest and driest in many years (frak).
So are you moving back to the US? I saw mention of Virginia house-hunting in the comments. How could you leave the grey dampness of ol' Blighty?!
