(He was only in the shop cuz of Deryck and Kaleb since he doesn't play himself.) I think that's right before his 6th year - in 2001? (please double check my math and years ;).)

Why would Jake hate him? because of the Slytherin/Gryffindor thing? I doubt they knew each other in school. They could've run into each other when Jake brings St. Mungo's his latest captures. I see that they could be acquaintences, though they don't know much about each other (at least Steven doesn't know much about Jake to decide if he hates him or not).

Well, Jake literally hated everyone that WASNT Slytherin. With a few select Ravenclaws thrown in there. He assumed that if you were in the other houses, you were good, so yeah....Though, Jake probably wouldn't let on about it, so Steven probably wouldn't hate him. One way hate.
Eddie would LOVE to know/be friends with Steven. He's more kooky and was...uhm, well, basically kind of obnoxious during his Hogwarts days, however. If Steven wasn't SHY though, Eddie would think very highly of him. Do you have a gaping "older Gryffish matey type" hole in your BS that needs fillin?

So... what year? Steven's 1st and Eddie's 5th? (they're 4 years apart, right?) or later? Steven does open up to people that he gets to know (although he's quiet to outsiders/strangers), and his mates get to see his more out-going personality ;)
