I read an article on the internet where David Bazan said "I think hell is for people who think to themselves 'Man, I was perfect my whole life I'm definitely going to heaven!' Those are the people that are going to hell. The people who say 'I know I've screwed up and I want God to help me' are the people that will make it because they realize that it's not up to them, it's up to him."

That's not an exact quote, it's me paraphrasing from memory. I can find the interview again if you're interested.

"The guy who stays on the straight and narrow represents the typical Christian viewpoint," Bazan said. "Do what's right at all costs. It produces people who think they're righteous and are going to heaven, and the bible's very clear that no one is good or can earn their way because our hearts are dark. The only hope we have is in the record and performance of a different person who's willing to let us take it all on ourselves."

Theres the exact quote from the interview found here:http://www.timmcmahan.com/pedrothelion.htm

Very fun interview to read, I posted a quote from it awhile back. Read it if you find the time.

Jesus would love you more if you wrote another entry about your poop schedule.

Did you know that Eskimos purposely eat certain kids of food that are essentially "diarhea proof" because they know that if they have the runs out in the cold their shit will freeze to their butts?

i think jesus saying forgive them father for they do not know what they are doing is directed towards the people who were crucifying him. at least thats how i've taken it. jesus also said that the only way to get to heaven was through him. that being said i think that if you truly believe what christ has done than he's reserved a spot in heaven. as far as admiting our sins, i think that as a believer christ, you admit that you are sinful in general. not really admiting every sin to god in order to be forgivin, although i think its part of having a relationship with god. as far as hell, fire is only what society/media/dante/whatever leads us to believe. i assume because it seems brutal and strikes fear in people. the way i've come to view hell as is not being with God for eternity. definitely doesn't sound as brutal, but i think when we're talking about eternity... that's a long time ( ... )
