Yowsas...Lol...I don't know why that word came to mind, but this "church" certainly got your undies in a bunch...Err...Okay wrong wording. I guess I'm just trying to make light of the situation that seems to have gotten you quite worked up. What kind of church was this? Meaning, as I'm sure you might know, what "denomination"?
That said, please know that not all "Christians" are like those that you have experienced...And I only clicked cause I don't consider myself "religious". I despise that word.
Jon and yourself, as well as the fellas in So Save Me and many other Christians fall into the exact category of people that I respect because they believe what they believe and do it for the right reasons - BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE, not because they're brain washed into it, it's like I always said to Jon, even though I have a COMPLETELY different belief and do not agree with it, I respect non-denominational Christianity and Judaism the most because of the REASONS the people believe - because they do, not because they're told to...
as for the "Church" (and yes, the quotes fit perfect, thank you) it was a "Luthern" (Catholic-light) church... I despise Catholocism and it's very existence
Catholicism is quite the perplexing religion, as are it's break off churches. I believe Martin Luther had the right idea when he found some faults in it and started door knocking (err, door nailing, lol) but he didn't even touch the tip of it... and when he died, people started a church after him, and NAMED it after him (Lutheran)! Hello, people, WWJD? He surely wouldn't tell us to go around naming churches after other MEN? Or segregate ourselves...It really is sad...
At any rate, I am glad you see that there are other's out there who don't believe for the reasons that some do... And I'm not putting down every person who goes to a Catholic, Lutheran, or any other kind of named denomination church...I just believe that they have some things to learn...As do I. And I'm sad that so many wrong perceptions are going out because of things like this...
thats the largest problem though, is that these are not isolated incidents, I have been to MANY churches and it is pretty much a carbon copy of a carbon copy- irregardless of denomination (like I said, with non-denominational being the exception) and it just sickens me how many of these people you look at, and they seen so mindless, so programmed...
