A Christmas Season Ghost?

Dec 26, 2005 21:44

I just talked to my friend Rob. He called to see what I was doing tomorrow night. He said, "I have a haunted house for us." It being a bit past the Halloween season and our annual trip to at least one haunted attraction I was a little confused. "A real haunted house," he went on ( Read more... )

DUDE, that is wild! You're so much braver than I am; I know I'd totally psych myself out in that situation. Hope you have a scary good time!

I'm not sure what I'm hoping. I don't want it to be a total wash, but I also don't want anything to follow me home. :/ I guess it wouldn't take much to make it exciting.

It might also be a good call not to get within 100 feet of a house with a "presence", but there's no turning back now.

Very cool Steve!! By all means, let us know what you discover!! Good idea to leave the Ouiji board at home though---you never know what you are going to get with those things. Have you watched "Ghost Whisperer" or "Medium?" If you do find something, you might ask it what it wants? Definitely let us know!!

I have seen "Medium", but since I have no particular talent for connecting with the dead I'm not expecting anything too obvious. Still, I have heard EVP recordings where a voice from somewhere seems to respond to what is being said, so I'm planning on throwing out some random "conversation starters".

Maybe I'll have something interesting to report.

Can't wait to hear the results!! I'm fascinated by ghosts & such. The antique store where my ex works, which is also where his brother lives, is haunted. Oddly enough, they never showed themselves to me much at all. They seem to like Basil, and Brad (his brother) told us many stories. The interesting thing was when a lady came in who had been best friends with a girl who lived there when they were young. Somehow, they got on the topic, and she asked if the man who smoked cigars still haunted the place. It was pretty freaky cause she described very similar experiences to what he'd had. The coolest was when I got to smell the cigar smoke. Basil & Brad had smelled it many times, but I never had. One day, I was in the store, and there was one customer who'd gone upstairs. Suddenly, I smelled this really strong cigar smoke. My first thought was, "what makes that guy [customer] think he can smoke in here???" Then I kinda realized it wasn't him, and looked around for an open window or something, (which there was none) and just as quickly as ( ... )

That is so cool about the antique store, Lori. Interestingly, the most obvious manifestation from our visit so far has been smell. I'll post more on that after we have finished pouring over our recordings.

Sounds pretty spooky to me. Haven't decided yet whether or not I believe in ghosts; haven't had to. Maybe that's a good thing. Although, I'm sure it'll be quite an adventure for you, at least.

Hope you had a great holiday.

I'm not sure how much I believe in ghosts in the conventional sense, but I've heard of enough odd occurrences for me to keep an open mind. We're leaving in about a half hour. Here goes nothin'.
