So Long January

Jan 31, 2006 22:18

It looks like I had better update this journal if I don't want to miss doing so in any month for the first time since I started it. I don't know what my problem is. It's more than just mid-winter apathy. Actually, I've been keeping pretty busy: mostly just cleaning 75 years worth of stuff out of this house, but I've been doing a few other things as ( Read more... )

When you didn't update about the haunted house thing, I was going to post something like, "Looks like Steve went off into the haunted house alone." Then I didn't.

I hope the best for your dad.

Happy Birthday, Steve.

Thanks, Sarah.

And I really shouldn't have left the haunted house thing hanging for so long. When we search for Bigfoot, I'll be sure to post regular field reports. ;)

Glad your dad is doing well. :-) ... And then, taking down the tree at the end of January! LOL - one of my friends does the same. Interesting about the ghost house, too. If you do get anything really cool on film, then please share!

Thanks, Jay. My family traditionally took the Christmas tree down on New Year's Day, but then again we always use to have real trees. Now I figure January 1st, January 31st, what's the difference?

I do have a picture I can post soon. It's a false alarm we think, but at least it shows the setting.

Oh, please do post that. :-) ... And the only difference with the January days is about "30"!

Good to "see" you, Steve-was wondering how you've been. Sorry to hear that you're feeling (or not feeling?) particularly apathetic these days. Hope everything continues to go well with your dad. Oh, and happy belated b-day. :)

I not doing so bad, Becca. Winter is just getting old, although it's been mild for us for the most part. It think it's the short cloudy days that really get to me, but they're getting noticeably longer now so that should help. I'll be posting like crazy in no time.

Thanks for the birthday greeting. Jackie always insists on putting the proper number of candles on everyone's birthday cake and I'll tell ya, mine was throwing off some heat this year.

People born on the Capricorn/Aquarius cusp are supposed to be practical but entertaining, social and humanitarian. Sorry, I couldn't find anything less generic than that!

I'm glad your dad seems to be okay; hope he recovers from the surgery soon.

Thanks Caitlin. I'm not sure if those who have seen my show would call me entertaining, but it sounds good.

Well *I* think you're fun. I just don't have too much trust in a system that labels me practical and ambitious. ;)

Sorry to hear about your Dad, hope he is recovering well.

You mean the house isn't really haunted ? What a let down :P ...never mind. I recently watched a film - 'Constantine'..the imagery and special effects used were brilliant ( to my untrained eye ). A supernatural/christian mythology theme and one of my fave actresses- Tilda Swinton- as a rather offbeat angel! Quite good..I thought.

Thanks, ohso, my Dad seems to be healing up nicely.

You don't sound too surprised that we didn't end up dancing with the spooks. I tend not to believe in ghosts, yet the occasional report leaves me wondering. I've been a bit curious about Constantine, I'll have to check it out. And I'll have to check out Tilda Swinton on the IMDB right now.

No, not too surprised Steve..I guess I am a tad skeptical, but like you, I'm curious.
