all of those books are excellent. I like the Henry James quote too- i feel really inappropriate when my first thought would be Henry James announcing to passersby that he is, in fact, "Henry James, bitch". I'm thirteen, what can I say.

personally I think you would get a ton out of reading The Fountainhead too. Even if you're not too pulsed about it, at least then I'd have someone to discuss it with!

I just want to say: any year where you can find time to read The Grapes of Wrath and still finish a second book has got to be a good year.
