the french quarter isnt bad at all... riverwalk is open and everything... but the slums... arg... not good man... there are houses on top of houses... there are shells left sitting where houses were... i was horrified in parts... i didnt make it to any cemetaries... so i have no idea about them... bourbon street was thumping at 2 am and everyone seemed to be normal... there wasnt a drought among the people... i saw a nice shirt but i didnt get it... it was the charlie and the choclate factory (gene wilder) symbol thingie and it had the mayor on it and it said something along the lines of... "he made a city completely of chocolate"... i laughed for 5 minutes:)... there was another good one too... it said "FEMA Hurricane Katrina Evacuation Plan: RUN MOTHERFUCKER RUN!!"
in all... the city looks good... but the outskirts are demolished... it sucks... but the spirit is still there... which is what will bring them all though this... oh and still... dont leave your car unlocked:)

Monie and I are planning a trip. Not sure when though.
How bad is it? I'm just glad I got to go in June before Katrina.
