For those who are already members - is it worth me joining?

Lots of people at work use it, including people I would like to keep in touch with from mentoring. It's just . . . I hate facebook. Really hate facebook.

Is it worth trying to continue with? If I join will people here friend me so I don't feel a loser?

Facebook *can* be fun - you just need to be a bit more careful than on LJ, as many people from the Real World hang out there, too (my boss already worked out my Who obsession, I guess).

Well of one certain person I want to friend - I've seen him in his swim stuff, his pj's, he's seen me in mine, and he knows I have a girlfriend. Plus a running joke between us is about his sense of direction and his man compass.

I would be joining to keep in touch with Real World people.

I love Facebook, but because of my job I have my privacy settings to maximum. I wouldn't want any of my students trying to friend me there! I use it more than LJ and would definitely friend you if you join.

I would certainly friend you, but will warn you now that I use it mostly as a glorified address book. I don't go in for all this cow-trading and quiz-taking that goes on there - I just keep my account active so as not to lose touch with people.

I don't have time to spend too much time on there. So like yourself it would be just to keep in touch with folks.
