He was the long-time news director and head newsman at WFLA radio.  He became somewhat famous 10 years ago after accidentally ending up doing an interview with Hank Earl Carr, a person who killed his son, a couple of police officers, and holed himself up in a gas station with a hostage before killing himself.  The 10th anniversary of this was just ( Read more... )

Wow. The willpower of the human soul is amazing isn't it? When my MIL died, we had to convince her it was okay to go without seeing her eldest grandchild, who refused to come to the hospital because she didn't want to remember grandma that way.

I'm glad he got to see his grandbaby.

I couldn't believe that when I read it. I had to read it two or three more times. I was amazed by his will, and it will be quite a story to tell Megan when she grows up. All he wanted in his final stage of life was to see his first grandchild.
