In Character Information
Name: Hidan
Age: Twenty-two (in appearance, but he's immortal, so it's not for sure whether this is his real age or not)
Birthday: April 2 (And right after April Fool's Day. Damn.)
Game/Series: Naruto, or more specifically, Naruto Shippuden
Staff Member or Student?: Student. Because nobody wants to come to a religion class taught by a psychopathic fundmentalist cultist bible-thumper

Appearance:

Hidan is 5'9'' and his weight is 125 lbs. He has a slightly muscular build, due to the fact that being a ninja, he has to fight a lot of the time, especially when he's a wanted criminal. His eyes are purpleish-magenta, has pale skin, and he has medium-length gray hair that is slicked back. Unlike most men, his eye brows are somewhat thin. His face is slightly roundish with his jaw being a bit square, and his left earlobe has a cut. He also has stitches around his neck from a recent fight.

His voice a bit rough and punkish with a touch of arrogance, and it goes slightly higher whenever he gets mad. As for his laugh, it sounds like a rooster's. No, seriously. It does.

Hidan's steampunk attire consists of a cravat with an undershirt and a maroon sleeveless coat (both are button-up) with coattails. Since he is a little uncomfortable in covering himself up completely, he tends to not button up both the coat and the undershirt. As for the lower part, he has black pants and black boots with laces, rivets, and a buckle strap. His silver pendant shows off the symbol of the religion he follows and hangs off to the right side of his pants, though it occasionally gets mistaken as a watch.

Personality:

Usual moods: Hidan is loud, foul-mouthed, sarcastic, and tremendously disrespectful. This increases when he gets angry. Generally, he is an all-around jerkass. This is because his immortality has made him arrogant and cocky, so he feels like he has nothing to fear from. He can also be a bit moody and spiteful, and will not hesitate to complain about whatever is bothering him at the moment. As a precaution, people are to stay away from him whenever he is in the mood to kill. This is made even worse when the time of sacrificing others to his god comes around, where he goes into his ritual state and is completely berserk.

As another precaution, it is not wise to insult his god and religion, since his faith to his god is really devout. That earns them a one-way ticket to hell (according to him, anyway), and a mutilation so horrible, that it would be impossible to recognize whose face it was.

Interaction with others: Most of the time, he is openly blunt and will not hesitate to speak about what he's feeling at the moment. He even expresses his joy of wanting to kill everyone in the vicinity, due to his bloodthirsty nature. This makes it all the more awkward and uncomfortable whenever people try to make friends with him. Although, he does show a little respect towards others that are interested to listen to whatever he's talking about, as he does like to show off. He is also a bit slow, but can pick up on things once it's been repeated to him.

All that aside, his foot-in-his-mouth tendancies can be something to get past to.

Interaction with friends: It can take a while, but once he warms up, he won't shut up. He can even be somewhat caring and will watch their backs. Even so, this still does not exclude them from whenever he's throwing out insults, and is not too keen on having them help him out, as he feels that he can do it by himself.

Backstory:
Hidan was born in the Village of Hot Springs to a mother and father, when it was still a full-fledged ninja village. He was completely rowdy, thus he was sent off to the local academy in the hopes that he would use his attitude to turn into a strong ninja. They were right, although his violent tendencies grew even worse, up to the point that he was almost kicked out because he had beaten up a couple of kids. Even so, he still excelled in training, and was happy that he was allowed to kill.

When he turned 18, the leaders of the village announced that the village would no longer be a place for ninjas; instead, it would be turned into a tourist site. The news about it had made Hidan extremely angry, as he believed that the ninja there were meant to kill, and that since it was passed, their talents would be wasted.

As he stewed over what he would do with his skills, a man in a hooded cloak came up to him with a proposition. Hidan was a little wary of this, but the man told him that he came from a cult which could certainly use a guy like him. The only thing that they asked in return was for a little bloodshed. If he passed the requirement, he would be able to join them and kill without consequence.

Hidan jumped at the chance and didn't hesitate to slaughter few of his neighbors before he left with the hooded man to join the faith known as Jashin, thus elevating his status to an S-Ranked criminal. In a few years, he quickly rose to the rank of high priest. The higher-ups saw that he had potential, so he was inducted to participate in the cult's many experimental jutsus. It was extremely painful to go through, and it lasted only a few days and nights, which caused him to lose a lot of his mental stability. On the last day, they tested out one more time by driving a stake through his heart. A few minutes had passed, and they were about to discard his body, thinking it was another failure. Suddenly he woke up and felt a bit disoriented. He looked down to see the stake through his body, and wondered why he didn't die already. The higher-ups saw that it turned out to be a success, and told him that it was because their god, Lord Jashin, had finally chosen a person to spread the faith. Upon hearing this, Hidan felt proud, and went on a journey to do just that.

Months later, he was found by the other Akatsuki members after he brutally murdered some ninja in a clearing. Pein, the leader, had heard of his immortality, and wanted him for his power. At first, Hidan did not want to, but as he heard that his goal would relate to Akatsuki's main goal, he decided to join on the hopes that it would be more effective to show the world his faith.

Pein paired him up with Kakuzu, mainly because the senior ninja kept on killing off his previous partners, due to his short temper. Needless to say, Hidan did not get along with him, as Kakuzu tried to make money off of his religion, which he considered was a sin.

In most of their missions, they were usually assigned to assassinate a person, along with the side trips of making a bounty. While Kakuzu didn't mind, Hidan wasn't pleased that he had to kill for money.

Soon enough, they were assigned the first mission: to capture the Two-Tailed Beast, whose was contained in the body of Yugito Nii. They went to the Village Hidden in the Clouds, and immdiately went on a chase, as the jinchuuriki had sensed that they would come for her. It lasted hours, up until they went into the sewers. There, Yugito had led them into a dead end, and immediately sealed up the exits in order to prevent them from escaping. Hidan, knowing that his religion doesn't allow for anything half-dead, gave Yugito the option of surrendering, but she refused and opted to turn into the Two-Tailed to defeat the duo. A while later, they had managed to defeat her instead.

A day after they arrived in the Land of Fire, Kakuzu suggested that they go on another bounty. Hidan was initially displeased by this, but it grew as he found out that their bounty was in a temple. To him, temples were a sacred place, and he did not enjoy the fact that he had to kill a monk for the sake of money. Eventually, he went along anyway, and massacred most of the disciples along with Kakuzu, before they finally defeated the head monk Chiriku.

As they reached the bounty station, Hidan decided to stay outside, on the grounds that he didn't like the smell of the place. While he waited, he was soon ambushed by the pursuing team from Konoha, which consisted of Asuma Sarutobi, Kotetsu Hagane, Izumo Kamizuki, and Shikamaru Nara. Unfortunately for them, their immobilization of him proved to be uneffective. A couple of them had to fall back after Kakuzu arrived, so the battle was now between Hidan and Asuma.

A while later, Hidan managed to get some of Asuma's blood after they exchanged blows. He activated his ritual right in the middle of Asuma used his Fire Release jutsu. This made him suffer some third-degree burns from his own attack. While he didn't notice what Hidan did, he charged after him, only for the Jashinist to stab himself in the leg, sending even more pain to both.

Shikamaru quickly analyzed Hidan's jutsu, and tried to force Hidan out of the circle with his Shadow style technique. Asuma threw a star at him and tore his left earlobe in order to see if the curse had been lifted. With Hidan now immobilized again, he quickly decapitated him. This was to no avail, as Hidan started to swear at them and his partner. Kakuzu didn't really care, but he went over to pick up his head and sewed it back on.

With Hidan back in commission, he was free to once again activate his curse, while Kakuzu fought off Kotetsu and Izumo. Shikamaru ran over to stop him, but it was too late, as he had now suceeded in killing off Asuma.

Soon after, reinforcements from Konoha arrived. Hidan wanted to slaughter them as well, but he and Kakuzu were told by Pein to retreat. Pissed at the fact that he wouldn't be able to get more sacrifices for the day, he went with Kakuzu to a secluded place in the forest, where they spent six days sealing up the Two-Tails and the Three-Tails (which was captured by a couple of the other members). Hidan complained about the length of time it was taking to seal them, when Pein finally unveiled Akatsuki's main plan. Of course, Hidan was really displeased about this, as he thought it was just another way to gather more money, and felt that it did not fit with his goal at all.

After it had ended, Hidan and Kakuzu had a little interlude before they headed off to Konoha.

Canon Standing:

From Chapter 332, after Akatsuki was done sealing up the bijuu, when Hidan and Kakuzu were about to go to Konoha.

The Calling:

After they were done participating in the sealing up of the Two-Tailed Beast, Hidan and Kakuzu were about to leave, when Kefka popped out of nowhere and surprised them. Needless to say, Kakuzu had to hold his partner back from getting himself even more injured, even when Kefka announced that he meant no harm. After a minute or so of calming down the Jashinist, Kefka told him about Zenithia, along with the fact that were he to go, he would be able to finally tell the world about his religion. Kakuzu thought that it was a joke and told his teammate not to go, on account that he thought that he was lying and that it was all just some ploy to But, upon hearing that he'd finally show all the heathens a real religion, Hidan agreed as he quickly threw his ring and cloak to the ground, and renounced his Akatsuki membership, before he went off to go to his new home.

Kakuzu is going to have a hard time explaining to Pein how they lost a member.

Anything Else?:

-Sketch is here. I only thought up the details of the boots today, so this explains why it's blank in there. xD;;

Ignore the chibi and the two profile shots and the fact that I forgot to put a cut in his left ear.

-He is the slowest to attack, since before the battle starts, he has to pray to his god for a good kill.

But, since his triple-bladed scythe has an extendable rope on the end, he is still able to dodge incoming attacks.

-His only ability at the moment is his curse techinque, where he takes in the opponent's blood after wounding them. He then makes the symbol of his god on the ground, while black-and-white markings will appear on him, making him look like a reaper of sorts. He then proceeds to stab himself on any part of his body, which causes both him and the opponent to share the same pain. The only way it doesn't work is if he steps out or is forced out of the circle.

-He can be dismembered, but he will still be alive. The only exception is if he has not sacrificed anybody in a while, which causes his immortality to wear off. Why yes everyone's allowed to use his head as a soccer ball

-He absolutely cannot stand vegetables or any dish that has them. Other than that, he will basically eat anything if he gets really hungry, as his teammate Kakuzu is a miser, and was not willing to feed him properly.

-REALLY likes to inflict pain on himself S and M fetish anyone? during battle, but he hates it when he's injured by other people.

-Due to the fact that his religion doesn't allow anything less of total destruction and chaos, he is truly a virgin. However, that doesn't stop him from flirting on ocassion.

First Person:

'Sup, everyone? My name's Hidan, and I am here to spread the wonderful religion that is Jashin! Oh, and I suppose that I want to get stronger, so that I can kick the asses of those who dare to oppose Lord Jashin. Thank you, Kefka. Heh heh heh. [smirks]

Man, this place is fucking huge! Seriously, I am so fucking glad that I got out of that hellhole of a group. Although, I have one tiny complaint: WHY THE FUCK DO I HAVE TO WEAR ONE OF THESE GIRLY OUTFITS?! Honest to Jashin, I feel like I'm suffocating myself just by wearing this!!! How in the hell am I supposed to---[eyes light up from getting an idea]---ah ha!

[Unbuttons his coat and his undershirt while ignoring the stares of people passing by]

There we go. Much better. [smiles] Now, off to find my room...
