Is Winamp pro worth the $15? What's the difference between ripping a CD at 2x speed than, say 48x? And try not to mock my lack of computer knowlage, please.

Considering there are other programs out there for ripping that are free (and better), this is hardly much of a selling point, unless you want a one-click solution. By better, I mean they have mechanisms to ensure the data is ripped correctly. Exact Audio Copy is that. For burning purposes...eh.. burning more slowly can potentially produce better results, especially if you play it on an older player, but a lot of that is just random.

Bottom line: I don't think Winamp Pro is worth it, from what I can tell.

Yeah, don't do it. For ripping, just use CDex. For burning, use whatever came with your burner. You'd just be paying $15 for stuff you've either already got or that you can get for free.

I second that, CDex is a good FREE ripper. Nero's a great burner if you need one, but... yeah, you'd have to buy or pirate it.
