You get seven points at character generation to spend on these. We'll playtest things to get the kinks out.

I'll mention it again, because I'm braindead and missed anything that got said on +n about it last night--

The way the five-dot Fissure background works, it seems almost to require a five-dot Refuge background, or some kind of explanation as to why the seed hasn't moved into the cache at the end of their portal. Is there another way to work this?

I put this stuff up for comments as much as to share results, so I welcome better ways to describe the five-dot level; it may well be a pretty bad example there.

From the MUSH Today:

Genius Loci - Genius Loci are places where Seeds failed to take with a person. As a result, these places are sentient, or semi sentient, and have their own reflections and abilities. Having dots in this background means you know of a locus, and you are able to use some of it's abilities. If used in conjunction with Refuge, Genius Loci can also be a refuge equal to the dots of Refuge. Without Refuge, the Genius Loci is a location you know of, can go to, but offers no benefits as a refuge and can't be rested at.

0 Dots - I'm not going near any piece of land smart enough to mess with me.
1 Dot - The Genius Loci is weak and barely sentient.
2 Dots - The Genius Loci is semi sentient, and of below average power.
3 Dots - The Genius Loci is moderately powerful and sentient.
4 Dots - The Genius Loci is spiritually powerful and highly sentient.
5 Dots - The Genius Loci is fully sentient, very spiritually powerful, and can look after itself.
