Potential Reflections Solution

Dec 10, 2008 16:49

An idea occurred to me this morning for how we could make Reflections work without providing writeups for every single potential power out there.

Snip! )

Personally, I think this might be the best way to go about it. It doesn't necessarily lend itself to obvious progression, but I think it covers the sheer range of powers.

I like it too. It's not really a list of powers, it's a formula for how to stat them, which means that players can continue to customize their character's powers to their liking without twinking out all over the place.

Another hold up point: How many points of reflections do you start with?

You get six. It was all the way at the bottom, but I fixed it.

Okay, have reached a point, which may, again, be something simple I missed:

How do you work out damage dealt/damage healed? Is it equal to the base dots? To mythos? To something else entirely?

It's kind of vague, at least to me.

It depends on the attack in question. Most esoteric attacks and healing moves will have a base damage/healing of Mythos, perhaps modified by how much Memory the Seed is willing to burn on it. You can probably increase their efficiency by dumping more dots into them, but I haven't figured out a formula for how.

Some other things to think about:

Points for Warding Off/Scaring Off enemies.

Something for 'specific targets' - say, only works on Seeds of a certain nature (darkness, plant, etc.)

Also: Stasis/Petrification, Sleep, other such effects.
