Greetings from Central California, where we are in our nth straight summer of drought conditions. We're thinking of changing our state bird to the vulture. We're thinking of changing our state tree to the cactus. We're thinking of changing our state fish to a box of Mrs. Paul's breaded fish sticks (packaged in Vermont). Yes, we do! It's the golden trout. Probably in keeping with CA being The Golden State.

Yay! They made it! Since you're my Hermione, I thought the least I could do was make sure you had a wand handy.

We get little sprinkles, and our Saturday Shakespeare in the Park regularly gets rained out for about 15 minutes (just enough time to scare the audience away) but we desperately need a good long rain as well.

Glad you liked everything - the Village Broom Buttons are awesome, aren't they?

PS: Our State Fish is the Striped Bass, which looks suspiciously like a carp. Hmmm....

My daughter's in Pasadena. She is very aggravated regarding water restrictions - watering your grass, etc. She says no one obeys the ordinance and no one enforces them, and there is no water. Then the fires. Scary.

I should send you some of our rain; the porch flooded again today it rained so much and so hard, and I can't get our Albus to leave the safety of the covers! Here's hoping your weather breaks soon!
