Had a very low-key birthday yesterday. This was mainly due to having a terrible  cold all last week, which I picked up somewhere at the tail end of my visit to LA the weekend before. (And yes, it was a Verified cold--we took COVID at-home tests to be sure.)

I estimate that, because of diligent masking in public, I haven't had a cold since late
