How low can you go

so I'm wondering how short I should cut my hair, if I cut it at all. Currently it is just past my shoulder blades, which is the longest it's ever been.

The mom in me says: Which is easier for you to take care of and work with when dealing with small child? Pony tail that can be out of small child's reach when he starts reaching or shorter hair? Looking good is important but so is survival of the sanity. And you'll look good either way.
