fuelharp asked about these interests of mine:
my wives
snarksexual
chuck palahniuk
elphaba
the candy aisle
will kemp
chick lit
1. My wives. In high school, my friend and I did the apparently very typical girl thing and we 'got married'. Later on she totally cheated on me and got married to another one of my friends behind my back. When I finally found out, to get back at her, I married the other friend too. So now we have a three way marriage. So of course I am interested in my wives! I even had them over for valentines day and made them a romantic dinner with heart shaped pizzas and brownies.
2. Snarksexual. Entirely inspired by
this community. Snarksexual: (1) Attracted to those displaying intelligence and sarcasm. (2) An individual possessing sex appeal that is enhanced by their sarcasm. I love sarcasm, and I love snarky characters.
3. Chuck Palahniuk. Amazing author. See his wiki bio
here, and funnily enough, the picture of him on that page is from the time I saw him in person! He did a reading up at UBC, along with Douglas Coupland. His writing is wonderfully twisted and weird, and I love it.
4. Elphaba. The real name of the Wicked Witch of the West! Taken from the Gregory Maguire book, Wicked, and the musical that was made from the same, that tell the story of the wicked witch of the west before she met dorothy. It's not easy growing up being the only green girl in Oz! I like her so much, I dressed up as her for halloween last year, including full green face and hands (pictures still up on my facebook)
5. The Candy Aisle. Name of the awesome candy stores in Vancouver. One is on 4th, the new one is on Robson, and there used to be one on broadway a few years ago, but its a Cupcakes now (which is pretty darn cool too). See their website
here.
6. Will Kemp. The dancing Gap boy! I loved the gap ad where he danced around in his jeans, you can see the ad
here or just look to my icon to see a mini, soundless version. He was also in Van Helsing, and played the horse in the version of Equus that Daniel Radcliff (aka Harry Potter) did in London!
7. Chick lit. I like light, fluffy books like the Shopaholic books, or Devil Wears Prada, or the Nanny Diaries, etc etc etc. It's not all I read by any means (see Chuck Palahniuk for refrence), but they are nice escapism sometimes. They are like chick flicks but in book form, and more readable than trashy romance novels.
(feel free to just post your answers on this entry if you don't want to do the whole thing in your journal)

In other news, my boss surprised me today by handing me a march bus pass and saying that from now on, everyone who works full time (and that takes the bus) gets a bus pass! Score! That saves me $73 a month. I swear, every time I think about getting a new job, my boss has a radar going off that says "must do something cool so angela stays!" I will remind everyone that my job is at Dairy Queen, and this boss takes the whole staff out for dinner twice a year (our christmas party was at a japanese steak house type place where entrees were $25 a pop), gave me a $100 christmas bonus and gave me two $95 dollar Blue Man Group tickets last year because he had gotten better ones for himself! I don't know what kinda alternate universe this dairy queen is in that makes a fast food job so non-sucky, but I'm happy to stay there for a while longer at least!
