ooh - that's right good that.
beseaching eyes & veil are very effective

was it a subconscious worry about the costume being too Spanish that created the Flamenco pose?

but if the derevation of the spanish comes from this sort of thing, does it matter? (knowing nothing of the proper history here I may well be being proper foolish)

Saba corresponds with modern-day Yemen -
I have yet to find ANY authentic reference for costume I could use

I'm wary of the connections a reader might make with flamenco
(which I'm sure you know I love). That and knowing I have watched
ElCid one time too many

I wanted a headdress that would give her a pointy outline
thinking of her as quite petite and birdlike

As it happens, I was just putting together my tenth MP3 CD comp of favourites yesterday, and I included that Bonanza Ska on it.

I don't think I know that track at all.

There are a couple of great hot rod race records. I can't think of any horse race ones.

oh yes - Tell Laura I Love Her, Chickee Run, Teen Angel...

you've prolly heard Beetlebaum on 2-Way Family Favourites - I'm assuming the Minott has evaded you

Hey - isn't Poor Rhameses about a racehorse? - not forgetting Longshot (if memory serves I do believe him kickee buckett)

then there's disco classic Ride a Wild Horse by Dee Clark (written by Kenny Nolan - the same guy who wrote Lady Marmalade and High-Wire by Linda Carr who does some of the yelling on Dee's disc)
"now you've coralled a hundred thorobreads and still can't be satisfied
but girl, with me fast at the reins we'll gallop home and never lose our stride"
"giddyap girl c'mon c'mon ride me ...whoa! giddyap boy c'mon c'mon ri-hi-hide"

My fave horserace pop record is The Intruders classic Win Place or Show My Baby She's a Winner
"Stone thorobread (she gotta lotta brains in her head)"

...I'll get m'coat
