No, no President's Day off. Odd, I know. Even more odd, my best friend who lives and teaches in Mississippi, she gets tomorrow off because it's Fat Tuesday.
Thanks for the compliments on the photos! I have some NoCal shots up on my facebook from last summer, if that's any consolation.
Not Twilight, college campus. Hmm, maybe if they shoot the last film here, like the rumors keep saying, they'll come up to campus. Doubtful, they'll probably stick with Vancouver again, inauthentic cheapskates.
So beautiful. I want to come to Oregon. Amy and I have talked house-swap one day, but she has worried that our place will be close to the city, while hers would be more remote. But how gorgeous. Enjoy the day, gal.
You should so do a house-swap! I think it would be a fantastic opportunity for both your families! You're a Melbournite, and I've always wanted to visit there, ever since I learned how to pronounce it when I was a young teenager. Cities are good for children to experience, and I think that even though it's a large city, it would be less daunting than say, having a stay in NYC, Melbourne's only about 3. something million right? Yeah, just did a wiki search, and already suspected it was around that size, pesky brain. But know this, Amy lives in the Rogue Valley, which is about 6 hours from here by car, and has a vastly different climate and topography than the Willamette River valley, where I live. Oregon is probably one of the only states in the country that can boast rain forests, high desert plains, several mountain ranges, and ocean, so if you ever do make it up here, there's A LOT to see. And I can attest to California, Idaho and Washington to be equally intriguing... however, I'm a born and bred Oregonian, so I think it's the cats
( ... )
It's interesting, you know, because you speak of Oregon in a way that reminds me so much of Victoria. Our state has that vast extreme of geographical topography too, and the pics of the ocean I've seen from Amy reminds me of some of our coast.
Your pics here, Miss R, are similar to our dandenongs (except for foliage difference with eucalypts and the fact this pic is taken in summer or spring)
Some say that the Pacific North West most resembles New Zealand in climate, and topography the most. But, like I said before... I've always wanted to visit Australia... and not just Sydney like so many others seem to stick to. One of my favorite movies was filmed in Victoria so, yes while watching that I always said... "that looks like Oregon!" If I lived in a larger place, I'd offer up mine for a swap, but I doubt a two bedroom house would suffice. If it ever comes up that family friends around here are wanting to go to Australia and they have say, three bedrooms, should I give you a holler?

That makes a house swap all the more necessary, I think. Like you too, I think Victoria and Melbourne are the feline's bedwear!
Thanks for these. I see you've posted more so must check them out too.
