Here be the summary for the third session of Chuck's SGAA Changeling game. And lo and behold, I did it before the fourth game. Go me! I think I got all the spelling errors out of this one. Now if Saturday would hurry up and get here I'll be golden. :) And to save space...
The third session started just before school began, on a Thursday. Memphis was curious as to what his shiny new Asterion exactly did, so he told everyone in the SGAA to come to the club room to see what would happen when he tried it out. He smuggled it in a duffel bag with an amp-less guitar as cover. After everyone gathered, he pumped one glamour into the orb. It slowly pushed against his chest and went inside him, giving him a glowy sense of purpose and a location he needed to be at. He got up to go, and the rest of the group followed.
His trek lead him to homeroom. Memphis looked to see the significance of why he was lead, and noticed fellow students trickle in that had a higher banality than usual. They didn’t talk to fellow students or anything. They just came into the classroom and waited quietly for class to start. Juan started to suspect that this was the work of Bellasandra.
As the SGAA racked their brains as to the cause, Memphis decided the best course of action was to use his guitar to invoke the Gift of Pan. Mindy, Juan and Raz managed to resist their hidden urges as the song began to play. Lord Darkshire went into a corner by himself. Sam became a little more flirty towards Rook. Rook however was completely caught of guard and in the full throes of the Gift(botching his willpower roll with seven fricking dice.), and was putty in Sam’s hands. This by itself would have been safe enough, but when has the Sidhe not tried playing cupid when the situation presented itself.
Juan, seeing how Rook obviously desired Sam, decided to use his level 4 art of Aphrodisia on Sam. This caused Sam and Rook to get more physical in their flirting, with Sam dragging Rook to the Fencing club room for pre-class practice. The rest is best to a fade to black, until the afterward awkwardness starts.
Seeing how the room was responding, Memphis told Raz to fix the intercom to play all over the school. As Raz started on it, Mindy, acting like she was under the Gift, wanted to dance with Raz. Memphis tried to intervene, but she rejected him utterly.
Seeing how the knocker was being distracted from his anointed task, the satyr decided to take the show on the road, towards the principal's office. As he walked and strummed, some students joined and followed. Other students found the objects of their hidden desires and found a private place like lockers to make out. Then Memphis made it to the office.
With one swift leap, he jumped on the front desk and stepped on the open mic button on the intercom as he kept playing. It took a few moments to kick in, but the full school was under his influence. Juan put a glamour into a guitar pick as he felt excess roll over him, and he used the current distraction to go look for the Unseelie clique.
Juan navigated the halls and found the clique's homeroom by following Bellasandra’s cursing. As he walked in, Tony was more grabby than usual as she tried to swat him off. Bellasandra yelled for Anastasia to go find the SGAA and get them to stop. Juan used his stick to get Tony to head to the office, then his art to put Lord Darkshire in Anastasia’s mind. After a mischievous look, Anastasia went to look for the “SGAA” via Lord Darkshire.
After both the other Unseelies were gone, Juan and Bellasandra had a little private talk. On their way, Juan gave a random stoner the guitar pick, enchanting the laid back soul. After a 'whoa dude!' moment, Juan charged him with the task of discovering what this meant. After Bellasandra spoke to Juan, the cause of what looked to be ravaging looked to not be caused by the Unseelies, but something else. Until that problem was solved, Juan suggested and Bellasandra accepted a tentative alliance.
Memphis encouraged Raz to sing, and Raz quite efficiently rocked the hell out. The whole office was dancing, even the principle. Then the great weight of banality hit the SGAA members in the office like a ton of Bog of Tony.
Into the office walked in the librarian, Mz. Gertrude. She asked what was going on, and seemingly had the power to make Memphis follow the rules. After a brief interchange of words of their personal reasoning, the librarian won out. Memphis shook her hand and apologized, pumping a glamour into her. It did not phase her. As the Fae left the office, she got on the intercom and ordered everyone back to class. The rest of the school day went by eerily orderly and efficient, like the thin grip of banality was controlling everyone’s puppet strings.
After class, the SGAA met in the club room. Sam and Rook sat on opposite sides, looking a mix of confused, scared and guilty. Mindy sat in the center of the room scared from the events in the office. Memphis paced a small area filled with murderous rage at what happened. Juan tried to calm him down, but Memphis explicitly said the only way to deal would be to cut the librarian’s brake lines. Juan told everyone about an alliance he was forming with the Unseelie, which elicited many odd looks and concern. Memphis still violently vocalized the killing of Mz. Gertrude. Sam raised objection, and Memphis went on that he was providing everyone a good time and made reference to Rook and Sam. Rook took a swing at Memphis, but missed. Juan intervened, but Rook realized punching Memphis wouldn’t change what happened so he stormed out. Sam left the club room as well. Juan went to get the Unseelie clique. And Memphis talked to himself about he was just trying to help, in reference to the early use of the Gift of Pan.
After a few minutes, Rook walked back to the room and saw Sam standing next to the door. Rook managed a weak apology, and Sam asked if he wanted to forget what happened. He answered by asking if that was what she wanted, and Sam said she needed time to think. Both walked back into the club room, but stayed at separate sides.
Then came in the Unseelie clique and both groups talked about the looming problem. Tony felt disturbed that he was agreeing with Memphis, a Seelie. Anastasia and Lord Darshire sat close, but not holding hands. Flutterfeet ended up explaining that the librarian was a bloody Dauntain. Much dialogue was spoken, and it was settled that one group needed to do research, while the other physically searched for the source. The Unseelie’s took the research in, and Juan tried to add Lord Darkshire to the numbers, but Bellasandra rejected his cantrip.
Thus the SGAA split up to search the school. Juan and Sam formed one group. Raz, Flutterfeet and Lord Darkshire formed the second group. And the final group was made up of Memphis, Mindy, Professor Bay, and Rook.
Juan & Sam looked around and found that the library was highly banal. They didn’t enter however. Juan asked Sam if she would rescue him and not leave him behind if things turned out badly. Sam looked at him funny and asked if Juan was hitting on her. They then continued to search.
Memphis and Rook first had a brief talk to come to a better understanding. Using Prof Bay as a banality detector, they searched until he fell to the ground. Seeing where he fell, the group then went for the principal's office, where they heard some talking. Memphis sat in one of the troublemaker chairs beside the office door, while Rook and Mindy stayed just far enough away to be hidden and to assist Memphis if need be. After a few moments, Mz. Gertrude came out of the office and was pleased to see Memphis. She promptly gave him a detention slip and left. Memphis sat there in a daze.
Raz’s group eventually ended up at the library, where he entered by himself. As he did he felt the great weight of banality press down on him, but he persevered. He noticed the lack of the usual books that were on banned lists. He also found the names of Mz. Gertrude’s aides. After finding the information he felt was needed, he left.
Sam and Juan eventually ended up at the library, with Mindy waving at them from her super secret hiding spot. Seeing Memphis staring at a slip, Juan went to him to see what was the matter. Much arguing ensued about the situation worsening. It was decided that the best course of action would be to look for the elusive Fae court downtown, after using a Jedi Council analogy and Juan offering to let Memphis drive his car.
Juan’s and Memphis group combined to look for Raz, which took no time. After much discussion, the majority of the group decided to go downtown with Memphis and Juan. Sam and Rook abstained. After checking if Sam was ok, Rook went to his Gramps to see if he knew anything about Dauntain.
Memphis went to the university to check up on an old high school buddy that graduated last year. The Boggan told the group he would meet them at the Waffle House. After much Waffles and Syrup that Mindy probably had or hadn’t had fun with, the council route turned into a dead end, since the Escheet was basically just a piece of paper to them. Still, the waffles could be attributed to removing Memphis’s unrelenting hate of brake lines, since he didn’t mention cutting them for the rest of the session.
Rook met with his Gramps and learnt some useful information about Dauntain, like that Fae mien were visible to them. Gramps also lent Rook a awesome great sword that helped him in the Accordance War. After that Gramps relayed a story about his encounter with a Dauntain in 1965, which Rook thoroughly listened to and enjoyed like most of Gramps other stories.
On the way back from downtown, Juan stopped at a bookstore and bought up copies of books that were removed from the library, feeling that they had power. Everyone looked at him funny.
Friday’s start was less dramatic than the previous day, though it began with a bad start. The remaining SGAA members were called to the office and given detention. Juan tried to talk himself out of it, but he failed to convince the principal that this WAS the United States of America.
In between classes, Raz and Rook went to investigate the librarian’s aides. They were pretty banal, but didn’t have a Fae mien like a Dauntain was suppose to have. The two aides were very uptight looking though.
Bellasandra was also busy the night before. She came to Juan and gave him a book with research of all the encounters with Dauntain within the last 20 years. Juan thanked her, then asked her if she would observe the right of rescue. Bellasandra asked if she was being hit on by him.
The SGAA met together at lunch to discuss what they have gathered. Much information was exchanged, and Bellasandra’s info was analyzed. Juan felt like inspiring and fighting Mz. Gertrude with Glamour instead of rules would work. Rook put forth that if all else fails, he would chimerically kill her, while silently coming to grips with the possible act. A general agreement was made that the place of detention must be moved, which Memphis said would be possible if the library became unavailable.
The rest of school passed by quickly and the SGAA met in the club room. After much discussion that went nowhere, Lord Darkshire left and returned with Anastasia. Then a plan was made that she would cause a severe enough storm so Rook could rip the roof of the library without anyone suspecting it was too terribly odd.
Bunks were discussed, in which Anastasia needed lots and lots of fans. Rook required a cartoonish detonator, and an evil villain outfit, which were easily gotten by Memphis and Anastasia respectively. Memphis jokingly suggested Sam should play the role of damsel in distress, to which Sam said she was not in distress. Juan went off on a quest to desperately gather glamour while the bunks were being set up.
At first, Juan tore up his shrine to Bella, which provided some glamour, but the Fiona Sidhe felt like he needed more. So he goes of to look for a daycare. Yes...a daycare...
After getting the teacher away from the little kiddies, he began to destroy their hope, telling them of all the dark and bad things that could happen to them, and why their teacher doesn’t care. He took the painted tapestry of their hopes and dreams, crushing them completely. The tears and horror of their young souls cried out, but Juan only received two glamour in his attempts to gather before leaving the scene.
His next attempt would be to break up the perfect couple. After encountering him, Memphis went to Rook to help stop whatever Juan was planning on doing. They came upon Juan just after he used Aphrodisia to cause the guy half of the perfect couple to kiss a random guy deeply and passionately. Then Juan ran off to find the dude’s girlfriend.
After mentioning he would not do his part in lifting the roof if this continued, Rook walked up to the confused guy, handed him five bucks, and said he lost a bet. The guy and gathering crowd quickly attributed the kiss to the bet and despair was averted.
Memphis quickly found the girlfriend, relayed the new version of what happened, and got Juan to stop his ravaging. memphis convinced Juan to come with him to help get glamour out of a race he had set up.
Memphis, during Juan’s ravaging, had put together an illegal car race. Everything was set, the cars were ready to go, but unfortunately Memphis and Juan could not inspire the crowd plus the cops came crashing in. After an open door 360 maneuver to pick up Juan, Memphis headed back to the school.
At night, the plan was put into the motion. Sam handed Rook three metals, Rook protested, but she said it was okay. She then played the part of the damsel in distress for Rook’s bunk. Juan handed the kiddy glamour to Anastasia, and the good one to Rook. Thus it now began.
Anastasia began her bunk and attempted her art for a tornado. The fans on the roof were roaring and Memphis drove like a Bay out of hell around the school building. She failed. And failed again. After being thrown Juan’s Asteron and Lord Darkshire’s Stick of Darkness, she finally succeeded.
Rook, after seeing the wind pick up, started his part. After a moment of hesitation Sam screamed somewhat like she was in distress. He secretly refused to use Sam’s medals and managed to pop the roof off in one attempt. After seeing the roof hit the wind, he grabbed Sam and jumped off the roof, along with Mindy and Raz.
The library was successfully totaled, and it looked natural. Darkshire owed Anastasia dinner. Memphis drove most of the group home that needed it. And Rook rode off with Sam on his scooter, still confused but happy.
