Kellen has a "family" project due tomorrow called "spotlight". You know, a poster all about him. Baby picture, family pictures, pictures of pets, write about what the kid wants to be when he grow up, all the places the kid has traveled.
Nothing like a family school project to leave you feeling inadequate.
Kellen is the second child.
We have no damn pictures of him.
85,721 pictures of the firstborn. 11 (printed) pictures of Kellen. And I had to hunt most the day for those.
Kellen is a ham and we have lots of unorganized pictures on various computers, but my husband has been backing up all our computers and has everything stored on some memory Passport thing, and then he's been deleting files on our computers. I have no idea where to find anything anymore. Plus, most of the computers aren't hooked up to the wireless internet and/or the wireless printer. Each rotten computer has some different version of Windows, or doesn't use Windows. I managed to re-size and print two pictures and it took me nearly all evening.
Then I went hunting for family photos. An hour and a half looking through computer pictures and the only family photo that includes all 4 of us, is a over-exposed picture taken 3 years ago at a restaurant in Sawupta Falls, Alberta, Canada after we had been traveling for two days, with no showers and hadn't changed clothes and we all look disheveled. The ONLY picture of all four of us. Lots of pics of Lee and the boys taken by me, and lots of pics of me and the boys taken by Lee, but I guess we don't know how to work a timer to get all 4 of us. ::sadslowheadshake::
[I tried to put the beautiful family picture here, but for the life of me can't figure out how to get it from that computer that's sitting right over there on the table 8 ft away, onto the iPad and then this blog. I.give.up]
This was my favorite project to do with Leyton when he was a kindergartner, and it is so cool to see all the kiddo's posters in the hall outside the classroom. Kellen's poster ended up turning out pretty well, but the project was a lot more difficult than it should have been and I feel lower than a weenie dog in a wagon rut about the lack of young Kellen pics and NO FAMILY PHOTOS. I had not realized we'd never gotten any professional family photos taken after Kellen was born so I guess I'd better be making an appointment to remedy that. AND make a better effort to get all of us in pictures more often when we're out and about.
