Memorial Weekend

We're up at the in-laws at Wickiup Lake for the holiday weekend. There are about a million people here getting ready for a Poker Ride on the ATV's and motorcycles. The only place to get cell service is to walk or drive to a certain spot by the lake, so I am sitting on a rock on a gorgeous Central Oregon morning with a view of the Sisters and Mt

Pelicans *are* weird - and ugly. But they are goofballs, too and they are pretty funny to watch out there. And there are HUNDREDS of them up there.

It is beautiful up there! I just don't like all the people (I just take my dog and head out on hikes by myself to get away from all the folks). Being out on a holiday weekend isn't high on my fun-o-meter, but the family likes to ride in the poker ride. My husband even got the best hand out of 70+ people and choose a cool new helmet for me!
