UPD: Captions and other LJ-ish stuff
#1: This was actually a rotation of a crack in a wall; the crack should be horizontal. Jessica remarked "trench!" while I was Photoshopping, so I rotated it to better get the Death Star effect. (?)
#2: I saw a light in the ground, and Jessica walked by and caught the light in an interesting ("HEY LOOK SHINY") manner.
Some guy who was working late was goggling at us like we were nuts. I waved at him, and he waved back in a very insecure and puzzled manner.
#3: Walking by a coffeeshop, I noticed a salt shaker sitting out on the table. In hindsight, I should've framed this to be less busy in the middle of the crop (around the shaker), but whatever.
#4: Kinda lame-I'm not really sure what I was going for. *shrug*
#5: We were walking past the first few buildings on Fayetteville St, and Jessica pointed out the fire escape. Behind one of those fence/gate thingies. Being my climber self, I split between the corners of the two buildings forming the alley, and braced against the top of the gate for this shot. Jessica got a shot of that, but it'll be a while before she gets around to making prints. (She's a FILM user.)
Of about ten exposures, the first one was the only clear one. Go figure.
Coming down, I grabbed onto the gate, and hopped down-opening the (locked) gate in the process. I thought about leaving a note that "if someone dangles from the top of the gate, it will swing open", but decided against it since the gate would be ridiculously easy to climb over anyway.
#6: Just some backlit leaves. Fun with B&W conversions?
#7: Random intersection. Hillsborough St & Everett? I don't think that's right...
#8: A hubcap.
#9: Railing.
#10: Fun with vanishing points!
#11: Entry scar in glass from a gunshot. This whole building was really cool-looking-random bricked-up office (?) in the middle of downtown Raleigh. I cut myself on some of the glass, but it's OK because I got some cool pictures.
#12: Pipe leading to nowhere in the ruined building.
#13: Parking lot. That's Jessica at the tripod.
#14: Crane.
#15: Stairs, hard light, brushed railing.

Jessica and I hit Hung's Asian Bistro last night. Interesting decor, heavily Thai food but Japanese motif. Beats me. Food was pretty good, and the red bean ice cream (dessert) was delicious. Thai Villa had better pad see-u, but I guess it's a style thing. I prefer Chinese-style wide noodles anyway.
We then wandered around downtown for about two hours until our hands stopped functioning right. I'm impatient to see how Jessica's shots turn out.
Came back, hit Cup A Joe for some hot cocoa, and then back to my apartment to watch Eternal Sunshine.
