Look what I made!!

Last Thursday was my final floral arrangement class.  Our teacher, Tekla, told us to bring whatever we wanted to make, and we'd just all do our own projects.  Well, only 2 out of about 14 students actually showed up for the last class, so it wasn't much of a party, which was a bummer.  But the other lady and I sat and talked with Tekla, who is ( Read more... )

Thank you!

I suspect it might have also been better had the flowers not wilted in the car for half an hour while I was at the tailor's on my way back from the florist... ;)

But now I'm totally confident that I can do all the BMs bouquets just fine, and it's really easy, so if I have you guys help, it should take no time at all. It'll just be prob some white roses in a bouquet smaller than that, maybe a dozen each, tied with navy ribbon. The centerpieces, in the interst of saving $, will also prob be small round vases/bowls with maybe 8 or 12 roses in them, stems crossed. Simple, vaguely elegant and definitely cheap, and people don't have to crane their necks to talk around/see over them.

good plan. Have you checked out FreshRoses.com?

They have awesome products, really cheap, on-time delivery. Really might be a great option for you :)

Ooh! No, I haven't yet, but thanks for the info! I remember seeing in The Bridal Bargains Book a bunch of online florists that allow you to order bulk for overnight delivery, and some were given really great reviews (most, actually), but I don't remember offhand if that one was listed. But it's exactly what I'm going for: overnight delivery of bulk roses that I can put into vases the night before and store in the 'fridges at my house and Jason's Mom's and Grandma's houses; ditto the bouquets (I figure it shouldn't take more than 2 or 3 hours the day before the wedding to make all of the bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces and corsages for Moms and such). I may have to have my bouquet made specially, though, since I'm not so sure I can swing that on my own... I figure I'll have the red bouq I sent you the pic of a couple of weeks ago, and for the guys, mini calla lilies (one flower per boutonniere) in either red or white. They're really easy to make. I'm just leery about ordering dyed flowers (the callas) online instead of ( ... )

LOL yeah, it's the "Sex and the Village" thing. Is it a pain in the ass, or do you think I can just leave it?

That was the weirdest thing - that's the first time I've ever had that on my computer. Something must've reset on my computer...

it does it to me, too, when I reply via my email window and the LJ thing pops up in another window. I think it resets when I close internet explorer and reopen it.

I feel significantly less heterosexual for having made it all the way through this. I gotta go let my super hot Christina Ricci lookalike hairdresser cut my hair before I end up as an extra in the Sex and the City movie.
