Hello [again] everyone!

I just wanted to pop in and pimp some new communities...

dempsey_stills: a stillness community dedicated to Patrick Dempsey
jake_love: a stillness community dedicated to Jake Gyllenhaal

Go check them out!! :D

Also, I wanted to take some ideas for a new challenge. I was thinking of doing one on Barbara Walters, but I didn't know if anyone ( Read more... )

I think a Barbara Walters would be cool.

Other possibilities could maybe be:
-Tom Brokaw
-Jon Stewart*
-Stephen Colbert*
-Anderson Cooper*

(*I know we did a challenge with all three of these but we could do a challenge with just one of them)

Non-news anchor/pundit ideas:
-Barack Obama/John McCain
-Democrat/Republican (icons wouldn't feature a person but rather would represent the Dem. or Repub. party...people could use blue or red, donkeys or elephants, etc...this could even be a set challenge where we have to make a set of two icons)
-Non-U.S. politicians
-Past U.S. Presidents
-Past non-U.S. politicians (like Winston Churchill, etc.)
-Symbols of politics/government (White House, Capitol, etc.)

I really like your idea of using political figures outside of the anchor world.

For today I am going to do the Barbara Walters challenge, then maybe post a poll asking what everyone thinks about doing political leader challenges soon after.

Thank you for your wonderful ideas! :D

I was gonna comment and say that it would be good to put the "politics" in still_politics, but I see pairodocs already did.

It would be interesting to do some more general themes as well. We could do something like "women in charge", where there's the obvious - Clinton, Pelosi, Rice - but other people could choose to do icons of Margaret Thatcher or Ukraine's hot female prime minister.

Or, choose a theme that has a very obvious "answer", and then disallow that answer. (Example: "Change", but not Barack Obama. (So, the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, the Conservatives coming to power in Canada after a decade of Liberal rule, etc.))

I do like pairodocs' set challenge idea.

I really like your ideas! Soon I will be doing a poll for whether everyone would be okay with using political leaders (I'm worried of toes getting stepped on), and hopefully we can take off with these great ideas soon. I appreciate the input! :)

Okay I have another idea for you:

--The Stewart/Colbert/Conan fight
--"When They Were Young"
Anchors when they were younger (you could also include political leaders if you want)
Example [A] [B [C] [D] [E]
Those aren't great pictures, but you get the idea.
