[If it were possible for a human voice to snarl, this one is.  Or, at least, doing its best to.  It took some doing to figure out what was going on, but hearing other... 'transmissions' helped matters.  Harding picks up his journal, and delivers his irate statements.]

[ You're very angry sounding and it's a little alarming but then again Bryn suspects he's new so it's very understandable that he's upset. After some hesitation, she speaks up. ]

There...there is a healer here but it's a woman, and uhm, you might try Lord Deior's note for answers to some of your questions?

[brynkitten]

Earth, America, California, to be specific. It was...

[ She has to think. Bryn only loosely kept track of time during the last three years or so. ]

Spring of 2011?

[stillacaptain]

[That's... an unexpected response. There's a long, long silence on his end of the recording.]

...

You're lying.

[brynkitten]

[ This is getting ridiculous and Bryn finds herself getting impatient. ]

Of course I'm not. I have no reason to do so. Many of us are not from the same worlds as others.

[stillacaptain]

... You mean planets? Other colonies?

[brynkitten]

Perhaps? I think perhaps there are often time and dimensional differences, however.

[stillacaptain]

How? How is that possible?

[This is seriously more of his partner's field than it is Harding's.]

[brynkitten]

I don't know. I just know that I've met people who couldn't have come from my world, who say they're from places I've never heard of. Giant robots. Trolls. Elves.

[ She pauses a moment. ]

You might get better answers from the staff, sir. I'm sorry I can't help more to answer your questions...

[stillacaptain]

... You sure you're not just seeing things? They've got drugs for that.

[brynkitten]

[ Bryn's feathers are ruffled with that comment. This conversation is extremely frustrating for her, considering all she's been trying to do is help him.

She sounds peeved when she responds. ]

Do you always speak to people who are attempting to offer you assistance and information in such a way? I understand you have reason to doubt what I've told you but I'm perfectly aware that I'm not hallucinating, thank you very much.

[stillacaptain]

[He snarls out a few curses, and it sounds like his fist pounds against the wall.]

Only when my partner's life is in danger, and I can't find him.

[brynkitten]

Yes, and I was brought here without my brother. Many people came without those important to them.

[ There's a world of frustration and anxiety in that statement. Bryn's tried not to think about Gunn but it's difficult to not be reminded when new people arrive that he isn't among them. ]

I'm sorry you can't find your partner, but I'm just trying to help.

[stillacaptain]

Was your brother in danger of losing his free will?

[He's silent for a while.]

... Not really in the mood to accept help.

[It's not her fault.]

[brynkitten]

[ Bryn is silent a long moment, because his words raise such ire in her she's incapable of articulating herself. That one question implied so much, and it made Bryn furious.

She wasn't going to listen if he was about to try to convey how important this partner of his was by lessening how important her brother was, to her or at all. She wasn't going to engage him in a battle of "who is more important" by giving him the honest answer of yes, yes she would say her brother was in danger of losing his free will. It was one thing to say that someone was of great value to you, but quite another to dismiss the importance of another relationship.

She responds eventually in quick, clipped tones. ]

Then it's convenient that I'm no longer in the mood to offer it.

[ She slams her journal shut. ]
