I hate office politics. Rumour has it that my job may not be as secure as I thought, and I could be on my arse with a weeks’ notice. It’s a long story how it works, but I’m basically on secondment which means I’m not on a normal contract as such, just on internal transfer. ANYWAY, I don’t know if this rumour is an actual threat to my job security,

It's a bit like being a temp and not . . . it's like the temp when you're not a temp, which is probably good in a lot of ways. What gets me is that all this is RUMOUR, my bosses haven't said anything to me, and it's pretty dodgy the way it's been spread, which makes me think it's more people playing silly games.

He didn't look like he couldn't afford scales, put it that way :-P It was just one of those very, very strange moments in life. Perhaps he was an alien? (that's my answer to everything at the moment. aliens.)

OH yeah, they'll do that. Once they do the anal probe there's no turning bad. Sadly, we've seen hundreds of cases like this.

Thanks chook. If worse comes to worse and I end up on my arse, I do have a job to go back to, albeit a much less, um . . . well, a shit job to go back to anyway. But at the end of the day a job is just a job - it's not my life and it simply bankrolls the more important things in my life.

Like trips to the supermarket to watch the strange people weighing their sneakers on the fruit and veg scales.
