So it's Sunday evening and I'm writing in from my mother's place, a small farm house a few miles of dirt road from Chelsea, MI. I've based my nomadic reacquaintance with life in North America out of this humble house for the last eight weeks, though I've been all over the state and managed a couple of excursions out to such Meccas as Cincinnati ( Read more... )

I remember when I went to my grandmother's house for Christmas in 2003, the first time I had seen my family for the holiday since 1997 (same as you, just shifted a couple of years). The conversations are awkward. I seemed to be the only one that didn't find it odd I chose to be getting wasted in Lidkoping with Lena & Mina on wine proffered from the a Swedish giant, instead of sitting round this table playing fucking dominoes. No, I don't remember what my youngest cousin said two years ago when he got that new toy. I had my Christmas dinner in Brussels, remember? We didn't have pumpkin pie for dessert; we had purple haze.

And you're only making me feel bad asking if I remember all those things from when I was little. A lot of my memories from that time have been pushed out to make room for all the newer experiences I've been chasing since you last saw me. That's just the way it is, and I'm not going to feel bad about it.

So, yeah, good on you for trying, mate. It's the most you can do!

Remember me??? *smile*

So, what's this noise about you returning to the states?!? Oh my!

I might need to hop a plane and venture somewhere soon (aside from a supposed trip to Switzerland this coming May with Britta), perhaps I can catch site of you somewhere.... perhaps.

I'm currently at work, attempting to fill the remaining few hours of my day with nothingness before the whole place shuts down for 2005. I hate being bored. So much so that I have returned to LJ to check-in on those that I miss the most in life. And look.. you're on that list.

I might actually attempt a post sometime in the near future (I have about 12 days off of work, with pay, coming as of this afternoon.. so I'll have the time). But I cannot make any promises, as I have nothing of interest to report.

Okay, this "comment" is getting lengthy. I'll need a new address for you soon, as I'm very into the letter-writing right now.

Take care of yourself.

Hey girl, drop me an email, I barely know how to find you these days...

Plus, I'm in the same continent and got a phone number and stuff.

And yes, you are challenged to visit the Bay area. i have a woman you've needed to meet for a long long time. And I need a collaborative art partner for at least a weekend.
