[A recent conversation with Kairi led to her finding a skirt in his nest of clothing on Xanth's bed.

He was using it as a blanket, honest. It had just been so much simpler to bed down in clothes instead of having someone make blankets. But he doesn't want a repeat of this event, so...]U-Uhm, uh, s-so ( Read more... )

I don't really know how to sew, but... I can try to help. It can't be too hard, right? [Lies!]

I'm Chloe. I don't think we've met.

I can do that, then.

Yeah. It's nice to meet you, Xanth. When do you want me? Do you have a meeting place and materials in mind?

U-Um... [He thinks for a second, chewing his lip.] Th-- the, um, th-the clothier's tower? Th-there's a lot of s--s-stuff there, th-that we could use, a-and I've got-- some stuff a-already.

A-As for when, um, I-- I don't know. The sooner th-the better, s-so, tonight? O-Or-- tomorrow?

Y-You know, what-- whatever works f-for you. [A little chuckle.] I-I'm not busy.

[Remembers talking to Sollux about the tower, making a mental note to visit it.] All right. Those work for me. I'll plan on meeting you tonight, then.

Wh-what? No...you don't owe me a thing. I am doing this because I want to. I don't expect anything in return.

Thank you.

It means a lot.

Are you busy at the moment? I could come up and sew a bit if you aren't.

N--No, I'm not.

[Come on. Him, busy? He's busy stuttering into his journal about making blankets. One could not call this boy busy.]

[Xanth doesn't bother with a reply; he just closes his journal and starts gathering things up.

He reaches the clothier's tower right on time, plenty of clothing folded over in his arms. There are shirts, pants, some robes, and even some skirts.

Shush, okay, they are all really comfy.]

[Chloe packs up her journal and heads to the clothier's tower, interested in meeting Xanth and getting to know more about him. When she arrives she sees a young man with a pile of clothing in his arms, and makes her way to him with a small smile.]

Hi. I'm Chloe.

[She grins at this.] Hey.

Uh. I know the general principle. [I.E. She's seen people do it. XD]

W-Well, it's not-- n-not that hard.

[Xanth turns and leads Chloe over to an open table, then deposits the armful of clothing onto it.]

W-We should-- sort first, b-because I, um, I-I actually h--have a lot of d-different things.

[And he does. Most of the things are wool, but some are cotton and some are linen. The blanket will surely be some sort of bizarre patchwork of materials and colors, but at least it'll be warm?]
