Saw the two hour premiere of House last night--which was awesome except that Wilson was only in it for less than a minute and all of the other favorites were completely absent, which made me sad. However, the premiere was plenty entertaining (I could have done without the random love interest though, but thankfully that was nipped in the bud pretty fast), and dramatic and had me laughing really hard at some points and then incredibly sad at others.
Although again, I would've been much more happy with it had Wilson at the very least been more involved. But I guess that kept the story focused on House and dealing with his problems, not his relationships (although him leaving on the BUS and not being picked up by Wilson pissed me off--but I'm hoping it will be acknoweldged in the next episode).
What made me happy though was this preview of the upcoming season (which apparantly is actually just the next episode, but still):

See how much Chase there was? That is just fantastic. Lots of Chase makes me happy. Him not being married to Cameron would make me even more thrilled (not that I hate them together or even Cameron, it just annoys me that them being together completely shrunk Chase's role and Cameron seems to at times turn into a total bitch and Chase deserves better than that), but so long as it is him being involved in an episode, NOT centered around Cameron or just him doing a surgery, I'm over the moon. There is more to him than being married to Cameron, and even just the trailer seeming to acknowlege that makes me very very happy.
House is best when there are few romantic relationships...for some reason the female characters turn incredibly annoying when they get into a relationship (especially a mutual one). Even ones I like. And that is the one major downside to the series. It is excellent, but when romance does come around, when taken seriously it can destroy a female character (although for the record--House gets less likable when he is liking someone sometimes too).
