It might be time for a haircut:

I was standing by the copier/printer just now, looking to see if anyone had put my printout in the "unclaimed" pile, when a kindly old security guard down the hall and behind me said, "There's more paper over here, hon."

I turned to him to automatically rattle off my normal, "It's okay, I'm all set," when I registered

My entire check-in with the avis and the hotel was a lot of "sir." When they figured it out the stranger and I had a shared moment of pretending it didn't happen. Not that I care to much, I kinda get a giggle out of putting a blip in someones day.
