I read that story ages ago...Probably in 1985...It scared the hell out of me! It was during a
period of my life when books and movies could evoke genuine spine tingling fear - man, I had
nightmares for years after watching "Alien"!

Your cloudy experience brings back memories of my own...similar ones...Certain cloud formations ( the kind you described to be precise ) give you a sense of scale - on a truly colossal level. Even the giant 747 you are on can then seem like an insignificant speck of dust. The clouds have to be spaced so the plane can approach and then fly between ( not THROUGH - as that shatters the illusion ) them, and it then becomes very hard to imagine that these towering, ominously solid looking structures are just so much water vapor...

You should have a small digicam...a really TINY but good one...easy to carry and conceal and fast to operate! I wonder how the results of the higher mp cameras on the new sony phones are...have to check that b4 I buy anything.
