Dust, dust, dust.
::Cough Cough::
Oh, hi there! (this is where I'd turn towards the camera and give a shit-eating grin IF I WANTED TO GO THERE).
A while ago I promised pictures of some stuff I've done lately. The pictures will be arranged Most Recent, Oldest, In Between. To view them, click on the undisguised LJ-cut!
I got a new haircut, and I learned about "style." This has actually been in the works for a while but I like the new haircut a heckuva lot (if not my expression in the picture).
I also went to West Virginia! Here you can see Appalachia--God's country. We ended up spending an extended weekend working at an ecologically sustainable educational facility operated by three nuns. Yeah.
This is a pretty good representation of what we were doing. Pretty comfortable weather, tasks that weren't particularly boring (but still tired you out), and working with people I love.
Home away from home. Rainwater was collected for toilet flushings and other grey-water uses, outhouses were pooped in, and three homecooked meals were provided (the waste from these meals was either recycled, or composted.
And so the trip came to an end. In the middle is Gretchen, the coolest of the mountain nuns. We talked Catholicism, and youngin's, and heard her crazy mountain nun story, and learned the true meaning of "nun." It turns out it's the religiest of anagrams.
