Ahem.

Once upon a time I had a Diaryland page. And I posted there regularly. It's still there, but Diaryland is passe now, and I can't use Diaryland to access any well-written fanfiction (i.e. porn), so I'm not going back. Nor am I ever going to link to it, because I remember posting some angsty entries that now cause me embarrassment to recall. I did ( Read more... )

Well hello there!

I am commenting because there is a post to comment on! Holy wow! Since we have friended one another it is only fair that there be commenting!

I had a Diaryland page once too... I had forgotten all about it until your post reminded me. I wonder if I could find it again since it has been so long and my memory is that of a dying goldfish. ^^

I never had that many readers who weren't people I already knew over on D-land, and I've always been a lurker. So, riddle me this, Batman: should I always reply to comments? Is that the polite thing to do? Maybe only sometimes? If so, sorry for not getting back to you before now. I was very pleased to get a comment from you. There were smiles and hand-clapping.

Well Robin, I do believe that you should reply to comments, but it's not the most important thing in the world, if you don't, no one is really going to be offended or anything. I like replying to all of mine, but if you only reply occasionally no one will mind. Unless of course they ask a question or something, then it would only be polite to answer. Don't tie yourself in a knot over it tho, no one will be bothered really. ^^

Hey there. I'd like to throw a "friending" on your page, but not if it would make you uncomfortable. I've seen comments you've made on rantie_rei's entries, and...somewhere else. A KakaIru comm maybe? I swung by your page out of idle curiousity, and I'll be damned if this isn't the first time I've wanted to friend someone based on comments and a horse shit profile anecdote ( ... )

Very cool. Friend away! I always keep in mind that anyone can read what I put out there, so that's why I've been slow to post things. I'm still mentally trying to find the line between "trainwreck" and "light entertainment". My first impulse is always to let my ass hang out in the breeze, but that's not really healthy. So. Second and third thoughts on every post, which is why I don't write the "what's up with me" entries.

But there's just something about the difference between total stranger and friend being a button click away that attracts me to LJ. I think it's funny. And that's the first I've heard back on the horse-shit story, so thanks! Aaaand I'll send now.

You know what I find the most dangerous for me, personally, is the impetus of the internet-adrenaline-rush without the keep-it-in-check safety valve of being face-to-face with whoever you're "talking" to. And I just used waaaaaaaaaay to much-of-this-kind-of-thing x___x. Flirtations, arguments, and discussions revealing personal details can go waaaaaaay further than intended because of that anonymous, adrenaline-fueled rush of type-type-type SEND, READ, type-type-type SEND, READ, etc ( ... )
