Some other shots that fit the criteria for prompt 2 of the ljshootout contest ("complementary colors") but I decided not to use.

I think the beach / intertube one is an extremely good complementary colour picture. Its very simple and the colours that are complementary dominate. I also like how you put the girl way out in the corner, thus emphasizing the space of the rest. I think this is altogether an excellent picture.

The food tray has a whole host of complementary combinations together which is cool. Unfortunately there's a bit much going on for it to be a really aesthetically pleasing picture.

Thanks for posting! (:

Thanks for the feedback.

You're right about the busyness of the food-tray shot...though it certainly is colorful. I took that photo mainly to document that Continental serves its passengers macaroni and cheese with Oreos. I'm sure all the eight-year-olds on the flight were thrilled.

Hahaha true!

I flew on British to Spain last May and they had a very gourmet looking meal complete with a little bottle of wine ... the meal certainly tasted anything but gourmet though! At least the wine was decent!

And incidentally I thought I'd note that even if you've already made an official submission post already you can still change your submissions up until the deadline.

I absolutely LOVE the fish picture. It's Nat'l Geo quality in my opinion. I also really, really like the frozen clothes pins--if that is what they are. What are they?

My experience is that Continental bucks the tide by serving real food on their flights. I commend them for that! However, mac and cheese would have really disturbed me.

Thanks very much for the kind comments!

Can't recall the last time I took a Continental flight within the US. Serving real food is definitely something to encourage. TBH, the flight with the mac and cheese might have been Continental Micronesia, and not strictly Continental itself.

(And the frost-crusted blue and orange things in the other guy's entry look like clothespins to me, too. Aren't they great?)
