Really, very lovely! J-chan is terribly, terribly jealous, naturally. Me, I'm more relieved not to have to shovel that drive :P

love you!

Even we don't shovel this driveway! John Marriner plows for us. Bad enough just shoveling out the doorways, cars, barn door, and pathways to the bird feeders. I think we'd be dead by now if we shoveled the quantity of snow we've had so far this year from the entire driveway. I'm getting tired of snow already! We already had more before the first day of winter in December than we had all last year. If you remember, we still had green grass at this time last year! It sure is pretty, though!

Happy New Year!!!

Though you sound extremely busy it all sounds wonderful and family filled.

Your snow is lovely, more so because it is not here (Sorry for that, because like you I too am tired of winter already.). So far this year, we have had more snow than we did at this time last year, plus we have had lots of ice and rain to contend with. The rain I don't mind, though in the 7 years that I have lived in this house I can't remember a time during the winter that we had water in the boiler room from a torrential rain like we had 3 weeks ago. Last night we had a mini ice storm and now we are supposed to be teased the next two days with temps in the 50's. For that I will NOT complain since it has been too cold to take our nursery school children outside to play in over 3 weeks and Thursday's low temps drained my car's battery. Long live temps no lower than freezing. :-)

We haven't had much rain that wasn't freezing and mixed with snow... though we've got a prediction for that later this week. We've had mostly snow--about two feet on the ground when I took the pictures, and ice damns forming on roofs all over town, including here. A lot of that has melted since I posted the pics, though. It's been very warm the last two days--up to the mid fifties yesterday and today! I've been listening to snow and ice drip and slide off the roof all day today. But it'll be a while yet before we see the ground!

I do remember those blocks of days and weeks when the weather stopped us from taking the nursery classes outside. Giving kids that age time to run off their energy really makes a huge difference in their behavior and attention in class. Hope you're getting them out this week!

Oh, so pretty! Do you still have snow now? (Yes, I'm very late in my commenting, but I'm trying to catch up on my LJing...)

You're not as late as I've been in commenting the last month or two!

The week following my posting of the pictures, we had a run of warm weather and a lot of the snow melted. By Friday the 11th we could see the ground in a lot of places, and the four-to-five foot plow piles were melting. Still half a dozen inches on the ground in shady spots or where it had drifted, though. And then we got another eight to ten inches on Monday. It's been sunny and slightly above freezing since then, so it's slowly melting off the roof and roads and driveways; but a little is still sticking to the trees, and there's plenty on the ground... and they're predicting a few more inches for Thursday night and Friday, though that may turn to rain. I haven't seen quite this much snow in a couple years! What's the weather like down there?
