Hey, I found this journal because of a HikaHaru topic linked from ouran_today and then noticed your reply reminded me of something I saw on the For Richer or Poorer forums. I'm Euphony from there, btw

There's a pretty good reason why it would remind you of Frop
I'm Cilas XD
Glad you stopped by and took time to reply to what I wrote :)
However, I think it was a little unrealistic for her to suddenly change only because she realized her feelings for Tamaki. I think it would have been better to show how she gradually became more interested in things over time, due to the influence of the entire Host Club.
I agree with that. I think the problem with me is also the insinuation of all the postive changes (well, depnedning on how you look at it) was all due to Tamaki. I don't like that, cause well, not only does that make Tamaki gary stuish.. I think it's more of a combination of alot of other things
If it was done gradually, it would also appear less forced. Sometimes I can't help but feel that her 'inexperience' was only made into a problem/issue because Hatori wanted a reason a reason for Haurhi to 'need' Tamaki... which kinda depresses me cause.. y'know.. I always thought of Haruhi as independent
I also don't like how most characters (except Mori, it seems) got a chapter of background and then the story focused on Haruhi and Tamaki (and to a lesser extent Hikaru and Kaoru) and there's less interaction between the different members. What happened to the sweet moments between Haruhi and Mori, or Haruhi and Ranka, or Kyouya and his sister? Kasanoda? Hani and Reiko (I'm actually quite fond of these two)? Chika and Satoshi? I guess I would like to see more silliness and humor, and less romantic angstiness.I agree with you

Yeah, I figured you were Cilas. Haha. Your posts always made me think so I guess I remembered them.

Uh, is this the same character? Haruhi very clearly has flaws, but she's smarter, stronger, and more unique than most manga heroines. She's not winning people over with her beauty or feminine kindness, but her perception and honest way of looking at the world. I'd say Tamaki is more like the ideal shoujo heroine, except he's male so the role is reversed

Okay. Organizing organizing 1. I won't be a hypocrite. I watched Ouran because of the promise of bishounen and a good storyline. WTF I watched the series because of Tamaki - I found his voice beautiful, singing Guilty Beauty Love. I ended up loving the series more than I expected I'd do so I decided to follow the manga.
Honestly, I've always loved unrequited pairings and the one-sided love things. I've always supported the 'best friends' and such, plus, it was bonus points for me if they get dumped. But HikaruxHaruhi... well, getting to know Hikaru made me want to have this pairing possible. I mean, I've never read anything that showed a real chance to those people and seeing that Hikaru was different from them, plus, Haruhi seemed like she was unfazed by the lead male's beauty, so I ended up supporting the whole thing
