Usagi was down, down, down. It was another day, another long day, and she had a quiz in one of her classes. She forgot which one it was; she'd stayed up drawing a good amount of the night and subsequently forgot. She was going to be in for it now-

As she turned the corner and walked past the library, she didn't realize she was about to bump into someone until she did it. Gasping, she jumped back, bowing her head.

"Aaah! I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"

Ami staggered back a bit, turning and bowing on instinct. "No, it's my fault..." She froze, her eyes going wide. It couldn't be...

"U-usagi-chan...?" The voice came out a whisper, the girl not daring to believe that she had, through sheer confidence, ended up going to the same school her best friend did.

She heard that voice, heard that term - Usagi-chan - and she slowly looked up, her eyes widening. And one of the few people she never thought she'd see at her new school was staring right at her, her own eyes wide in shock.

"A-ami-chan!?" There was only one thing Usagi could think of to do. She instantly threw herself at Ami for a bear hug. "Ami-chan!!"

The bright smile came to Ami's lips almost instantly, unbidden, but not unwelcome. "Usagi-chan!" she cried, hugging her best friend close, "I... I'm so happy..." She could almost cry, she was so elated she wasn't alone here. However, she managed to hold them back, concentrating on feeling elated that Usagi was here.
